Look at the artistry, the exquisite beauty of it. Such a sword would be welcome in any museum of the world. It should cost a fortune. In the Gyokku Ninja dojo, such a sword costs roughly ten dollars to make - and that of the finest grade steel! A gi, the black uniform of the ninja, costs us just six dollars to manufacture - and this of cloth so tough that it lasts for years under the heaviest of use.
Now tell me if the Clan has not - to a great extent - defeated the need for 'money'? When the cost of everything is negligible, money becomes unimportant.
The Gyokku Ninja Clan controls every stage of the production process for everything the Clan needs. Food is grown on Clan Lands. Excess is bartered for other necessities, but only for raw materials - the Clan always handles production of everything we need in-house. Clothing is created by clan members; weapons are created by clan smiths.
Quite simply. No one is corrupt. No one is selfish. No one is greedy. That's all it takes. Labors that are necessary, are shared - for example, the growing of food.
