Gyokku Ninja methods for dealing

Greetings, Deshi! Everyone knows fear - an artist beginning a great work feels fear that he will not be able to complete it - no matter how great an artist he is. A warrior about to fight a great opponent feels fear - no matter how great a warrior he is. Everyone has things they are afraid of, and other things that they are not afraid of at all. Often something that makes one person afraid will not trouble another person.

Ultimately, much of fear is illusion.

There is no reason to fear anything in the world except a direct threat to your life or well-being - but if you feel afraid, and logic tells you that you should not be so, just move ahead.

One more thing - you have said you are afraid of failure. But it's not possible to fail when practicing ninjutsu. If your meditation is interrupted, simply do not bother about it, but just focus again and continue...

So where does 'failure' come in?

To lose focus in meditation is not 'failure' - it is just losing focus. Just re-focus. If you lose focus often, just estimate how much time you were focused in meditation, and don't count the time you were unfocused, and keep meditating until you complete a total of five minutes of focused meditation.

So, even if you lose focus again and again, you can still complete a total five minutes of focused meditation.

You can even use this fear you have for additional mental training.

If you lose focus, control your mind, and do not allow any negative thought to trouble it. Just refocus. In this way, you will not only meditate, but you will increase your mental control. Remember the ancient law - 'He who shows control in small ways will one day show control in great and important ways.'

In the course of your life, if you walk this path, you will do many great and important things. And you will look back at your fears of today, and smile at how simple they were.
